KEEP LOOKIN
About two years ago I found a perfectly round stone on the road. It was smooth and looked like it had been handcarved. A few smaller ones were found later. My eyes began to spot more and soon I had gathered several dozen. The largest was the size of a nickel and the smallest the size of a pea. Were they slingshot bullets from young Native American boys? My mind started to conjure up stories. It was a puzzle that had to be solved.
The collection of “marbles” continued to grow with the mystery. One day my daughter was having dinner with an archeologist when she told him about the unusual stones. He was interested and further inquired with a geologist. To my surprise his report did not support my theory of sling shot bullets. The geologist said they were simply natural stones formed from shale. The mystery was solved but my story wasn’t. I’ll keep ‘lookin’ for those artifacts.
