FIELDS OF GRAIN
These are a few photos from my walk today. The wheat fields are ready for harvest. It reminds me of something I read recently about a grain of wheat...a seed that falls to the ground and dies only to spring up and alter the whole landscape. This is the secret of joy and fulfillment as we die to ourselves and become of service and joy to others. I talked with my sister who is visiting for a few days about this very thing...especially as we face the retirement years with more time. Finally, I can have "me time"...but it is more than "me time." It is getting out of my comfort level and overcoming my fears.
Low humidity, cool breezes, and sunshine...couldn't ask for a better July day.
