Inspirational Point
Last Sunday I witnessed something that took my breath away. We had stopped at a vista to view the beautiful mountain ranges, the river, and villages below. The area was new to us and after taking many dirt roads we were confused and somewhat lost. Another car pulled off the road and two couples began climbing a small bank with binoculars. They asked if we had seen the eagles. What eagles?
Apparently eagles are spotted here quite often. These folks lived in the valley below and came to the mountain in hopes of finding inspiration after a very difficult week. They had buried their son the day before. While sharing the story of how their son was murdered, an eagle glided swiftly down into the valley and circled back to the mountain top. A second eagle with full white head and huge wing span sailed by on currents of wind barely moving a wing. “There they are” someone shouted! We were breathless then scrammed for field glasses and cameras to capture the moment.
As the majestic eagles took altitude out of sight I heard the grieving mother exclaim with hands reaching to the heavens, “They shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint.” It was an inspirational moment that will stay with me for a long time.
