IRIS BLOOMS

Picture
My Iris blooms are planted in memory of my former neighbor, Mrs. Sylvia Skipper, who passed away one month before our move to Big Valley.  She was 90 years old. The Skipper family invited me to dig up their mother's Iris bed and take the tubers to my new garden in the valley.  Each Memorial Day when the Iris bloom my thoughts recall this wonderful lady who taught me to grow and preserve foods the old fashion way which today we call the green and organic movement.
