I discovered that tulip and daffodil petals dry easily and add beautiful color to a dish of scented herbs and potpourri. As the petals from my potted Easter flowers begin to drop, I put them in a basket by the kitchen radiator. Within days the petals are dry, papery thin, and ready to toss into a bowl of potpourri.
A bowl of colorful petals on the coffee table or desk creates a relaxing element to the space. It evokes the remembrance of flowers past and the promise of flowers to come. If the petals are mixed with herbs, the room is scented naturally rather than filled with chemicals of artificial air fresheners.
